January 18th, 2006 Robert Peppercorn MD and the California Institute of Skin and Beauty located at 350 Del Norte Avenue in Yuba City, California welcomed Mike Bibby from the Sacramento Kings for an exciting fundraising event in support of the American Melanoma Foundation. Mike Bibby met with guests and spent hours signing autographs for those attending the event.
Kelly arranged for twenty guests, who paid an additional fee for the opportunity to spend time with Mike Bibby learning about basketball performance. This took place in a private area with Dr. Peppercorn, Kelly Costa Gravitt, and Mike's agent Mathew Neilson.
"Mike and his manager Mathew were a pleasure to work with! They went out of their way to make this evening special for the guests at the California Institute of Skin and Beauty", says Gravitt. Mike was very professional and pleasant. It is my hope to have other athletes follow Mike's lead and raise awareness for the importance of sun block particularly with out door sports.
Kelly is starting a "Water Break, Sun Block Break" program with athletes, the American Melanoma Foundation and other spa professionals.
The American Melanoma Foundation is a non-profit organization offering information and support services to melanoma patients, and family. They also provide education to the public about the importance of sun protection and the need for early detection. A donation to the American Melanoma Foundation will help support skin screenings, educational programs, melanoma support groups, and an informational website (www.melanomafoundation.org).
These programs are critical to the prevention, early detection, treatment, and research of melanoma. Please show your support for the American Melanoma Foundation May is Melanoma Awareness Month!
